Install the .deb with sudo apt install ./VersoFold-0.4.1-x64.deb. Ubuntu needs libfuse2t64 for AppImages.

VersoFold 0.4.1
A reliability patch across the workspace. Claude Code and the other connected agents work consistently in the editor and PDF reader, with current Claude model defaults and controls for the models you want to see.
Fixes protect unsaved work during file changes, project switching and offline recovery, and improve figure data imports, exports, deadlines, keyboard shortcuts and navigation.
Paper phases: tell VersoFold where your paper is, from drafting to published, and the workspace arranges itself around it. The rebuttal moves into the editor: paste the OpenReview page, answer each reviewer under their comment together with your coauthors, see your changes since submission in colour, and copy each reply for OpenReview.
Preprint & editions: the named preprint and the supplementary material are built from the same LaTeX as your submission, with a view of each and a side-by-side comparison. Check the sources replaces Evidence Lens, and the agent gets its own column.
VersoFold for Linux: a .deb for Ubuntu and Debian and an AppImage for other distributions, with the same built-in LaTeX, a sandbox for agent commands and keys protected by the system keyring.
Claude Code, Codex and other installed agents now sit in the agent’s model menu, and one click adds VersoFold to Claude Code, Codex, Claude Desktop or Cursor. Connected chats can attach images and files.
Drag papers straight from your browser into the reference library, and clearer guidance on public share links, which run through a tunnel from your computer.
Write together: live co-editing with named cursors, Overleaf-style track changes and a Review tab, and share links for reading, commenting, suggesting or full editing.
Automatic two-way Overleaf sync that merges coauthors' parallel edits, agents that can edit and run code and notify you when they need approval or finish, faster reference review, and a Visual editor that looks like the PDF.
A connected research workspace: richer figures and tables, linked results, a reading desk, evidence search, manuscript planning, submission and rebuttal tools, and web editions.
Find your way with focused menus, a searchable handbook, guided workflows, and a practice project. Connect Codex, Claude Code, or a compatible agent from one settings page.
The first macOS release brings local LaTeX and visual writing, PDF preview, an integrated research library, your choice of AI connection, collaboration, and Overleaf export.
