A local foundation
VersoFold works with project files on your computer. You decide when to connect a provider, publish a sharing link, or transfer files to another service. This website cannot access your local workspace.
Give access deliberately
Collaboration permissions distinguish reading, commenting, suggesting changes, and editing. Choose the narrowest access that fits the work. Shared content remains accessible according to the sharing configuration, so review permissions and revoke links when the collaboration ends.
Suggested edits can be reviewed before they enter your manuscript. Keep your own backups, especially before accepting substantial edits or syncing files.
Keep an eye on the tools
An agent’s actions depend on the permissions, tools, and integrations you enable. Read tool requests and review changes. Custom endpoints and MCP servers are additional systems you choose to trust.
Cloud inference sends relevant context to the selected provider. Configure a local endpoint when you want inference to remain on your machine, and inspect any tools that can still contact external services.
Install official releases
Get the signed, notarized installer from the download page. The release notes include checksums. Do not disable operating-system protections to run a file from an untrusted source.
Website protections
This site uses HTTPS when served through its public domain and restrictive browser policies for scripts, framing, camera, microphone, and location access. Fonts and page assets are served from the site itself.
Reporting a concern
